I did this type of conversion and i now have a mix of 1.0 12v loom, (original wiring used for sensors speed, temps, etc) and the 16 engine loom used for all ecu controlled aspects. Had to wire fuel pump in separetely.

im thinking thats true. Different plugs because ECU differed entirely for 3 cyl engine.

I dont think it will be plug and play with the 1.0 12v as the plugs are different ( i think) u2u2 J100RSA or Beardy

ah yeah.. the engine loom will be going and the 1.6 engine loom will be going in....

the question is will the 1.6(c16xe) engine loom mate up to the 1.0 12v body loom....?

when i done the 1.6 conversion on my 1.2 8v it was a piece of p1ss to do... all plug and play....

just wondering if it will be as easy....

In the GSi, the ECU is in the kickpanel, so you would have to feed the new ECU loom through there, there is no way you can use the existing one.

Like you said before, engine loom has nothing to do with car loom except for the interfacing, all the wires for lecy windows are still going to appear in the correct places etc etc

Cyber, the loom you are on about is in the car, nothing to do with the engine loom...... its easy to interface the cars loom to the engine loom though.

I was actually talking about the spec levels rather than engine choices though. And there is no reason why a 1.0 12v LS/GLS shouldnt have the same loom as a a GSi.

body loom really depends on luck TBH, since all corsa B's were fitted with different looms, but it seems that the Merit got the bum deal with a lame loom, and models up from this got half decent looms with wires for windows, mirrors, C/L, heated seats etc, but there is no sure fire way of saying that you have the same loom as a 1.6, short of checking them both out for yourself.

Right whats needed? obviously the usuals engine, gearbox, shafts/hubs/cv's(maybe), ecu engine wireing loom.

How much different is the body loom on these compared to and 1.2 8v for instance?

Any idea's lads/lassies?
