im lowered -40mm on jst springs on 15s and the ride is shocking, evry small dent u go over is like going over a speed bump the car jumps everywhere well bad :(

The more you lower the more strain you put on the shock as it is already heavily compressed when at rest.

Relatively modest drops on good springs (Eibach) shouldn't do any real damage compared to dropping 60mm on Apex for example.

and vauxhall corsa b and c standard shockers(rear) can take 3300lb on one 'force load cell', whatever that is

just checked.
depending on brand of spring and vehicle, lowering is possible without knackering shockers. it depends on the pressure exerted on shock absorber in lb f/in, and the relative return of the spring. so basically with different makes of spring will allow for a big drop without damaging the shocker.

obviously because standard shocks are not designed for the harsher ride of hardend springs

its got nothin to do with how low u go its the poundage ;)

i dont understand why people say they damage shockers. during a normal drive in a car shockers can be compressed up to 100mm. going over a spped hump can compress the shocker by 50mm EASY. Gas shockers dont wear out because hydraulics inside is designed to take forces up to 3 times the weight of the car.

isnt a good idea to lower on standard shocks, it'll be a shite ride and the shocks will die fairly quickly but no shouldnt rub!! :thumbs:
