I had my sxi (c) in 5 times under warranty for asimilar fault. was a loose speedo cable and then they replaced the body control module (whatever that does:o) and its been fine since.

Was that £400 just for the sensor? I thought the the ones for the GTE digital dash were expensive at £80

quote: £400:!:! Thats sounds way over the top just for the sender unit. Check your fuse box for fuse number 18 before you do anything else, rule this out first.

A broken speedo cable shouldn't affect the running of the engine, it shouldn't cause the engine management light to come on.

My guess is that your speedometer is cable controlled and i think that your cable has snaped.Replacing the cable solves the problem.I also think that this is a common problem on corsas, correct me if i'm wrong.

Last night driving home and my engine management light came on , the car spluttered then stalled. i restarted the engine and it was OK again for about ten minutes then done it again. |
