No it shouldn`t still start witha nackered CTS, this reads the coolant temp and chainges the mixture to suit. If it as high ressistance and thinks the engine is hot, the fuel mix will be weak and the timing advanced , not good for cold start !:rolleyes: | |

should still start with a dodgy cts,would of said idle control valve but giving it a bit of throttle usually gets it to start. | |

no it wont there like tenner if its a duff switch will read -100 or something on diagnostics, for a tenner thats what id try | |

how does that make the engine not start? is it if it reads to cold or sumat? would unpluggin it sort it? lol | |

no news, had a few people saying it the ecu but im still not sure as it only happends when its pretty cold lol | |

mine has same problem I think it's fueling. As in fuel filter or pump. Cos it done it with my 1.4 16v. Changed engine to c20xe. Still same so I'm gonne check fueling. Hope this helps. | |
