for genuine parts your looking at roughly

£26.50 waterpump
£67.50 cam belt kit (inc rollers and tensioner)
£5.85 semi syn oil
£1.15 oil filter
£1.50 each for plugs
£9.50 pads for 2ltr

these prices are for trade club though

Not much change from £150.

Get a genuine VX belt kit.

Get a load of anti freeze too.

So I need:
water pump
tensioners
timing belt
oil
oil filter
spark plugs
brake pads

How much you recon that will cost? can get oil from vauxhall at trade price and the rest from dingbro at trade price. I was told the brakes on the nova were off a cavalier gsi so these just the same as astra gsi ones?

too thicker oil will clog up the hydrolic tappets.

Darren

I used the vauxhall recommended stuff 10w40 semi synth as per Miles advice.

Vaux semi synth is decent stuff as said.

Changing the tensioners is a good idea.

Just bought a nova with a redtop engine and want to give it a service. What oil is best for it if i am gonna be using it on a track every so often. My mate reconned that it should be slightly thicker than normal since it heat up more. Also I want to change the timing belt and my mate has never done one before so was wondering if the tensioners need changed as well?
