the top layer is still tacky because it actually takes 6 weeks for all of the styrene to release from the resin - however it set to "touch harden after about 30 mins to a few hours | |

you will need to use something like 80 or 120 grit on fibreglass or you will be there forever, you only use 600 grit for finnishing filler. | |

thanks will, 600 grit wet/dry paper will shape it ok wont it, and remove the orange peel effect off the piece, then what type of filler primer would you recommend i use to go over this? | |

P40 will remain slightly tacky for ever, as the resin part of the composite is polyester based, when It cures it will have a slight stick to it, unless it is mixed with a flow coat or wax soloution, as you do when laying up the last glass fibre laminate. | |

nah its not really pink, its kinda erm dunno how to describe it, but found out i got 800 wet/dry fine and not 600 wet-dry :mad: | |

if ye used too much hardener it wont harden right either lol is its really really pink then probly better off startin agen lol | |

i used a fair bit of hardner, and mixed it up very well, ive jst started sanding down and its gone ok. | |

its been 48 hours now and its still tacky slightly. so im guessin i canna sand it back yet :( |
