wot sort of processor has it got? mines got an intel centrino and its supposed to last absolutely ages

ive had it on charge for absolutely ages now and when i put it on it says it only has just over an hour left

The real power killer will be harddrives and the LCD backlight... especially if it's got a big screen...

its supposed to last ages tho, the fella in PC world said it should last twice as long as a normal PC

I've got an athlon 1.6 ghz an that runs bout 3-3 1/2 hours word processing etc., an bout 2 hours when messin around on internet etc.

To be honest the power meter in Windows XP can't cope with the varying power loads of the Centrino. The fact it says 1 hour remaning is more than likely wrong and related to your current task (i.e. if you just booted it up the system would have been using a lot of power and it'll take a while for the meter to adjust)

Mine lasts about an hour if I'm lucky, but my battery has been recharged a few hundred times so is getting near the end of its life.

Toshiba S2800-300 - P3 650, 256mb Ram, 15" TFT, 20gb HDD, 1xPCMCIA Network Card, USB Mouse

there is a button on my conputer that i dont know wot it does lol

the symbol looks a bit like this ((0)) with an arrow pointing up /\ above it and an arrov pointing down below it \/

depends on load, but general usuage, I'd say around 2-3 hours, put it in constant heavy usuage n errr...dunno.... not long 30 mins? mobile Athlon XP1600 in mine, n gets bloody warm too
