kemp, kenwood ones are 50?

intacepta, thought the bass was made by the cone and the midspeaker/tweeter were the ones in the centre?

i've currently got some cheap kenwood ones at the moment but they arn't exactly any good which is why i'm looking at something a bit better.

I think you will find its just two tweeters, the cone itself provides as much sub/mid bass as it can.

when you go to a gig, to you turn your back to the stage?

its the same principle in a car, You need high quality at the front. I you still want treble at the rear stick some 2-ways in some where. Would seriously be better quality. I have had both types (6x9 3ways) and now have sub in boot, and decent 2-ways up front(on a zero budget) but i get very good sound quality.
