My 16"s didn't rub like the 17"s do
Could go lower on 16"s without any probs. No way with the 17"s (serious arch modding if so)
Not sure about the speed bit. Does an inch matter
17"s look er by far.

Opinions please

Claire

Yeah Marv, thats a problem I've got with the 17"s.
I'm just thinking that 16"s are a better fit all round and theres more scope for lowering.
But my car is mainly for show rather than speed so big rims are better for that.
Never happy am I

I first ran 15's with 60mm, then got 17's. Did all the arch work etc but the ride was AWFULL and without a kit was a mile off the floor. I just bought Spax RSX coilover kit, lowered the front 85mm and the rear 70mm. Sold my 17's and bought some new 16's with 195/40 rubber (they are VIRTUALLY the same rolling radius as 15's with 45 rubber) so now my car is on the deck and the tyres are still in the arches (completely on the rear) so the rims look PLENTY big enough. I'd say this is the best option (without a kit). Its cost me a lot of money, going from rim to rim and suspension kit to kit but EVENTUALLY ive got it spot on. 16's all the way for me.

Its not the size - its what you do with it that counts.

your car is mainly for showing - leave the 17"s on and lower it as much as you can without extensive modding to the arches.

i have 17" on lowered 40mm, WITH OUT any arch work, PLUS i can have a full car, and it doesnt catch at all!!! i think its because i have set it to hard on the adjustables!!!

u do go alot SLOWER, but as u said they look spot on!!

ive had all sizes and decided to go back to 16's again. the 17's slowed down to much, used loads more fuel and made the ride awful.
