I was thinking about getting a BFO cone to replace my drilled airbox. Is there any way I can get some sort of heat shield to protect it from engine heat?

Whats wrong with your drilled air box?? Got mine done on Sunday seems ok.
If you do upgrade will you be selling your filter and is it an aftermarket one ie PVD etc...??

I hear people on hear raving about how loud they are. My drilled airbox isn't really that loud but I don't want to lose any performance etc..

For those that don't want to go for a full induction kit, a panel filter (ahem, PVD) is perfect with a drilled airbox, but you'll never get that induction roar you do with the BFO Cone.

Just went from a drilled air nox to a BFO and i'm well chuffed. Its LOUD!! Plus it seems smoother after u floor it then lift off the accelrator, my drilled air box used to make it judder a bit.
No problems thus far

Would get a BFO cone but they cost so much and you dont offer CS members discount

i think if there is any performance loss from a ind kit i think it is not noticable its just in ur head its like peeps think super unleaded now make them unbeatable in there car lol its not noticable i Must admit throttle response may be noticed slightly but not enough to matter its literally nothin times matter on race track not on road
i have had a bfo cone/ piperx/ drilled box and i must say none have felt better they all felt the same no noticable power gain which u wont notice anyway car pulled same with all three on my car slight delay in respnse with ind kit piperx but like said so quick its not noticable to matter
if any body is interested ive got rolls of stainless steel shimmy, i have made a heatshield using it its like paper which u can bend buts its steel dead easy to fit to, ill send measured amount to cover half the filter diameter all u do then is secure to the cone with a large tie wrap or jubilee clip

The heatshield acts as a barrier when bonnet is closed.It touches the lining.
Sheild goes right underneath filter as well.. Not perfect but better than nothing.

Hows the heatshiel attached.
Fixed underneath with screw/cable tie.
When bonnet shuts all is very tight.....

I take it the shield is made from Aluminium. I would direct the cold air feed at the metal ratehr than at the filter

Can you not get a carbon airbox with direct air kit for the corsa? on a 1.8 adds 10hp and 15lbs torque.

Do BMC make an induction kit for the B? They r meant to be good, they r incased in carbon i believe.
