Just wondered if anyone on here lived / went out in any of these areas since im at uni in loughboro and need some hints + tips on the nightlife around me. ALso looking for a few dj gigs so need to know which clubs/bars to hit with my demos!

Derby is all right on Monday/Wednesdays, (the student nights) But you gotta get pissed, Notts is meant to be a really good night out, but not been yet ... planning to this year sometime, and Leics, i dunno about

Never seen a fight in Derby to be honest, but i could have done and just been too pissed to remember...
Friary is where i usually drink cause they sponsor the Uni Hockey Team, so we get cheap drinks

im a funky soulful house/us garage dj. The type of music they play in modern bars/room 2 basements of clubs etc... im sure you know what im on about.

Hmmmm. Well Derby ain't exactly the home of clubbing... ur probbly better off aiming for Notts, Derby is pretty crap for clubs, there's DnE, (Desperate n Easy)... the Gatehouse, which has different stuff every night, possibly good on weekends, wouldn't know, and er... Zanzibar, which is shit !

Scream is good on a sat night in derby. Bit of indie in blue note on a friday is good.

Some dickhead kicked the Friary tramp in the head last night after getting chucked out of Scream, fucking wanker.
After working in Scream for a year or so, i have realised that there are a few fights, but not many. There's more towards Coyote Wild and all that crap where the chavs frequent.
The Gatehouse is good occasionally has Interface (Drum n Bass) First friday of every month, and Blend (House on saturday nights)

I live in notts, Thurs nite is student nite in the town and theres loadsa offers on like £1 a pint and all that, Ermm fri and sat nites are really busy, Works is supposed to be good but I never bin in there yet lol ( u wanan hurry casue it supposed to be gettin shut down though) theres loadsa of clubs and pubs about that shut at early hours, Id say is a good nite out

im at uni in lboro aswell, i can see you have learnt that in lboro u have no chance of finding anywhere that plays any good music, best bet is nottingham i was up there the other week had a great night but that was mainly due to me being very pissed that hearing good music.
