Talking to my friend and he says every month or 2 he fills his car (clio 1.2 16v new shape) up to the top with optimax to clean all the shit out of his car and also it runs better with optimax.

Is he talking a load of bolax or is he saying the truth?

So shall i fill my 1.2 16v SXi(C) with optimax or not bother filling up @ 82p a litre?

Optimax is a waste of time.

IF you were to gain anything from a petrol like that, you'd need to dismantle your engine, clean it all thoughly and then rebuild it, THEN use Optimax (if it even does what it says it should)

Putting Optimax into an existing engine that hasnt been cleaned out and has already had different fuels in it will contaminate the Optimax and therefore make it pointless.

Oh and using engine flush wont clean out the engine enough either.

So its a waste of time. Your better off saving those extra pennies for a decent moddification to the engine.

Optimax is a higher octane rating so it's not useless, it is for tuned engines tho and might clean it a bit by burning hotter

Yeah, but it'll never make a 1.0 catch a 2.0 !

Its all a mind thing. Like people thinking adding a backbox "makes it feel so much faster"

optimax is a higher octane and has better cleaning. now wither or not you'll notice any difference in using it I don;t know. try it for a couple of weeks and see what you think. then go back to normal UL.

My mate has an astra coupe turbo, has the phase three regal kit on it, without the optimax it loses loads of performance, the higher octane helps loads!

I've stuck a petrol receipt I found from 2007 on my board because it cost 88.5p

Plus I was on my old bike so it only comes to £9.31
