i was driving down a main road and slowed down to turn into a side road on the right.

as i began to turn towards the road ( still on the main road) an elderly woman rammed into the side of my car causing £1800 worth of damage. (bent B-pillar, dreased door, dent in sill, and dent in rear quater...) Door doesn't close or lock

whos fault is it?

im lead to believe it was hers, but want as many opinions as poss.

my cars only worth (and insured for) £1800 quid so is it a write off?

Look at it from her point of view was it a closed junction? did she have give way signs or markings on the floor? were you already performing the manouver? IE halfway round the corner. TBH matey if its how i picture it then its her fault. What did she say to you? did she say sorry at all cos if she did thats admitting liability IMO tell the insurance company that and they will look after you. What happens when they wright off your car? how much do you get?

there were give way signs, TBH i felt sorry for her, cause i had my mates and she might of felt threatened, so i was real nice to her, she said she would pay if it wasn't too much, but didn't know whos fault it was

i had just started my manouver, she was a just a bit slow on the up take and didn't see/ stop in time.

she hit me at a speed which wh would pull off at, so not hard, her bumpers just got me on it! not damaged really....

as for another car i think i will get a Corsa GSI since i got a corsa sri at the mo.... hopefully its written off den hmmm

dont have to accept the fisrt offer from the insurance company, and doesnt matter what value you put on the car for insurance valuation in this situation. if they write it off, just get examples of similar cars etc in autotrader and other mags, this will help to prove the value of the car, the insurance company have a duty to return you to the position in which you were in before the accident, do not accept any offers too quickly, as once you have said yes its too late to argue that the car was worth more!!

cheers every1.

mine is a little like yours wainey, not as bad though.

my wing is fine, abd my door fits the hole better, but i doesn't shut, and i had to kick the fucker open!.

My locks are bust too. have to leave it in the garage.

at langey, but i don't agree wiv that though, cause our insurance is high enuff......

how much do ya reckon its worth then?

was a 95 M, 1.4 16v, corsa sri in Red with 87K on it, but it was in mint condition.
