Ive got NTl Broadband(yes i know its shite) and whys my KB/s running so low. Its going like 16kb/s 18 kb/s. Is there some type of setting or something?

There is probably a lot of people using the net at the moment, it slows it down, mine aint running full speed either ;-)

It's because there are many people in your area using the same service as you.

Or the server you are downloading from is slow.

Whats shite about NTL BB ?

Mine's good enough even on 150K! Mind you the 1 meg will be better next week

about 30, not as bad as your but it should be around 70max and usually around 50KBPS

You're only as quick as the slowest point. You may have 512K but if the other user on Kazaa has 56K you won't get above about 6/7K download.

im on ntl bb
itll only downloads as fast as the person ure downloading from
if there upload rate is shite ull get a slow dowload rate

I have NTL Broadband, very happy with it, dunno why people say owt is wrong with it.

Like Adam-D said, you are srestricted on things such as Kazaa to how quick others can upload the files you want.

Kazaa is renowned for dial up users...when u set it up even if you have a dial up connection you can still select that u have a 1MB connection so u cant even filter the connection speeds of users...bit pants really...

oh and I do have a true 1MB service

Just tweeks your registry to run at optimum speeds whilst using broadband...read the site it gives you a full explanation.

Yeah mate did for me...when I had a 512k connection my downloads were on average around the 15 kbps mark...once I downloaded that patch it ran a lot faster 65 kbps...

save it to your desktop...then you need to extract it...you should get an extracted complete message...a reboot after this wouldnt do any harm either...then try again...
