It only works for so long.. the box has a built in credit limit. Once you reach it, you will need to connect it to the phone line and pay for what you have watched... if you want to watch any more ppv etc.

Once you hit the limit you cant get any more pay per view stuff!
Then ul start getting huge phone bills cos it'll try ringing 333 9 times every minute!
Someone on one of the sky forums has got a phone bill for £250+ because of this!
Either do the 9v battery trick to take your card to the limit or just pay!
Otherwise it'll end up costing you a lot more!

Oh, and as for the box office thing, may work but normally purchases aren't sent straight away, your box will just send the purchases in one go, say once every month!

Hope no1's fell for this!

Its in the paper today. One persons box called 123, talking clock every 9 minutes and ran up a bill of £250 or something. In the daily mail.

I friend says it works but, sky digital is so complex that I bet they know so easily.

ITV digital, was different though as all you had was an aerial. Sky, they can send all sorts of data over the network so if need be, it doesnt need the phone line. The sat can do everything.

I wouldnt trust it personally.

Mine aint been connected for 2 years, know someone who max'd a card out, then put it in a mates box to watch a match!
Then his mate was billed for all the movies and porn he hadn't even seen!
Sky send all the channel information by the satellite, the only reason a phone line is connected is to charge you for stuff!

Think this is why all them new cards have been issued, to stop cards being used in different boxes, and to give a lower credit limit on the card

It serves the cunt right for trying to scam sky in the first place.

The satellite dish & lnb you get with Sky can only receive signals. The digibox needs the phone line to send *anything* back to sky.

Our digibox's phone line has never been connected. The dickhead installer tacked the phoned line around the middle of the skirting board, so we ripped it off when he left. Yeah, in the terms & conditions it says it must be connected for a year, but there is no recorded case of anyone bieng stung, as sky don't enforce it.... well apart from if you have a mirror subscription, where the 2 digiboxes must be connected to the same phoneline... that is enforced rigorously.

the card is married to one digibox only, and won't work in any other, it's been like that since day one. Plus the card is linked to your subscription details... so no matter what box it is in, the person who's details were used to subcribe will be charged.

The main reason the cards were changed was because hackers were apparantly getting close to cracking the encryption method.

Think it allowed another card in a box if it was at its spending limit!
So only one person needed to suscribe, max the card out then copy it and sell.
As long as the 1st person still subscribed then every1 else would have free sky!
Even if they changed the encription it'd still work as all the copied cards would be updated with the original!

You can't just copy the cards... otherwise people would be selling them down the pub.
