Jus wondered how much debt u was in??? i am in 11.5k debt but i have managed money carefully whilst in uni so i still have 9.5k left which means i am really 2k debt. I took out a full loan amount this year so i could buy a Civic type-r next year simply cos of the low interest rate on student loans. But i will need another 5-6k loan from a bank to buy the new car. Quite pleased wit da way i have handled my money tbh. all ma frens are like 14k debt.

I spent 2.5k on my car and the rest went on stuff for my flat, think i invested mine quite well. Working as well and Mummy and Daddy help me out quite a lot.

Thats lies, I could in Theory go and work in the Irish Republic but they take like half of your salary in tax, so il pay £36 a month. If you ever come back and work in the UK again they will get you, if you havent started to pay it back in 50 years then is cleared, after all you will be drawing pension then anywho

It isnt debt.
It isnt taken into consideration when you go for a LOAN, or a mortgage so therefore it isnt debt. It doesnt affect your credit rating in anyway and i know this for a fact because I had difficulty getting a credit card recently, because i HAD NO CREDIT rating!

Any student would have to be mad not to take out a loan. Borrow at zero nominal interest, invest at 5%, leave Uni with a decent chunk in ya account and pay back about £100/month if you are earning good money! Too easy!

debt is when u owe money for shite u dont need/dont have any more and cant afford

repaying a student loan is NOT debt, its paying for my fucking education ffs, how many times do i need to say this.

im doing 4 years at uni, thats 3k a year for 3 years, and i work for one year, so 9k all in all i will owe back.

this will be paid off once i earn over 10k a year (starting wage for the job im doing in my placement year is about 24k) and they take a chunck back per month for a few years untill its all paid off. i think this is an ok starting wage for a 20 year old concidering i live way up north. people who have worked here longer are on up to 90+ k a year, company cars, work abroad, shares for free etc etc

my accomodation at uni was 2,800 a year, and i worked part time to pay for tuition fees, food, drink, clothes, books, going out, my car etc. i came out with 1k overdraft which ive now paid off, so i didnt think ive done too bad.

if u sit in and save the student loans IMO i think its a waste of life, going out and getting shitfaced, wasting money on crap u dont need, drugs and hookers is all what living away from home at uni is all about
