Ive got an 8310, spare phone basically. The other day it just switched off and wouldnt switch on again. Battery is fine, it wont charge either so I think the power amp has gone on it.

Anyway where is the best place to get them fixed? Its under warranty, but I took it one place and the claimed it had corrosion on the board, they told loads of people this when I was there. Its 3 months old, never been near any water so how they can say that!

Also I opened it up and there is nothing corroded internally on it!

Anyone any ideas or help

try switch on without the cover
power switch might of snapped off

omg thats so spooky i barely had my phone 5 weeks and it fecked up. i took it back and they tried tellin me the same

thing is too the phone i had before broke and it was iffy from day i got it. sent that off and it came back as water damage and i was like wtf!!! they told me it can happen just by condensation in a room

the prob i have with mine at the min is the on off button and it winds me up. noone will touch it and place i got it said i need to claim which will cost me £50 and its not even my fault

Power switch is fine, Ive had the phone apart, checked it all no probs, checked the board its fine, battery is fine, so the only thing I can think of is the power amp on it stopped as I had the same thing with an older phone.

Kerry, they try get out of everything, IM taking it to a diff repair company tomorrow see if they can fix it or something?

well in the end my brothers mates dad took a look and he said it was on off switch and it was a common fault with nokia (happend alot to my mates actualy) so he reckoned to sort it

only lasted about a week and now its gone gay again

bugger! I might have to have a look at that then and see. When Ive taken the cover off, the switch looks to be alright, but I cant seem to get any power to the phone? Bloody nokia 8310's!

It needs flashed. New sw put on it. Its a fault in them.

try CRC if u cant get nokia/carphonewarehouse to fix it. CPW will do it for free tho!

They said it had corrosion on the board at first but its never been near any water at all, she even had it in a leather case!
I had a lookl at the board and it looked perfect to me.
