Not now its not no, but when it came out, the R1 was teh pick of the bunch by far. Its just the other manufactures have caught up. Especially suzuki. Kwaka are still behined the pace.

be fun for the first 3sec before falling off
at the end of the day a bike will only go as fast as i make it, whats differnat between a busa to 30mph and a 50cc vespa at 30mph its call having repect for the bike and taking your time....

Beardy, motorcyling has been in our family all my life. My old man used to race, and i've seen it happen. Someone buys a bike thats far to big for them cos tehy dont think they will ride it hard, think they know how to ride properly, then boom, down they come, broken legs, pins, broken arms etc etc.

If you "rate" yourself that much as a rider, go get one. Its your money, and your life at hand.

PErsonnally, i think you would have to be a complete idiot to do that.

no a complete idiot has not respect for the bike, and gets on and lets it go.
i am not saying i was a good rider i said i have had alot of bikes and know how to ride one, i feel aslong as u get used to the power then you would be fine....

u can still fall off a 600 and i could still get on and let rip. its all about having respect for the bike, and taking things easy until your used to it all.....

i can go "boom, down they come, broken legs, pins, broken arms etc etc. " on a Aprillia rs250

i just feel that ever bike is just as unsafe as the next weather its a 50cc or a 1300cc, u can fall off have a crash anytime. its all about the rider to take there time and get used to the bike....

ok people are give advice to get somthing like the below :
Suzuki GSX-R600, 750, 1000,
Honda CBR600, 900 FIREBLADE,
Ducati 748, 996, 999, parts very pricy
Honda SP1 OR 2 V-TWIN
Suzuki TL1000,
Suzuki SV650/ 650s, 1000
Kawasaki Ninja 600, 750, 900, 1200
Aprillia RSV - ojc's choice
Honda Blackbird
Honda VFR800
Honda 600 hornet.
whats the differance all go really fast and can fall off at any time

Simple.

Have 2 standard unmodified vehicles.

either 2 cars, 1 fast, 1 slow - cheap

or

1 bike 1 car, but both relatively nice. Bike will be fast regardless.

I went with option 1.

persoally i would go for a 748 for my first proper bike, fast enough and looks very nice, or wait for the new crb600 to come out which is based on the rc12v

or get a yoshimur x1 fairing as it looks much better than the stock 'busa one
