Right, do u get a 1.4 16v sri? or is it 8v? If it is 8v is it quicker than a 1.4 sport? N are all 1.4 gsi's 8v?

Cheers

no the si's were 8v too....

si was put on the back to indicate multipoint injection as opposed to single point injection on the 1.4 hi-torque engines.

i know this because when i was looking around for my car i came across loads of 8v and 16v sri's... all with the si badge on the back.

some GLS models which have the more powerful 1.4 engine also have si on the back.

I'm wanting a 1.4 but not to sure, what gives more power from standard? I've heard the 8v sri's are faster than 1.4 16v sports? What do i go for?

Our first Corsa was a 1.4 8v - on a hill flat out at 60 it lost spped to 55 or less, foot fully down. you couldn't over take in it with a miles space. I'd highly recomment a 16v. My 1.2 16v out performs the 1.4 8v by miles. When we traded it years ago we were told by Vauxhall that the engine was slightly "fluffy" though. It was too technical for me to understand.

1.4 16v - sri/sport
1.6 16v - gsi/sport
