Dunno. I had an old C reg Astra GTE for about a month before i went legal and got a licence. It was bloody fast!!!

nah, 1.8 got replaced by the 2.0 ecotec as did the redtop.

Phase one GSi's came with C18XE (1.8 16v 'red top'), and the C20XE (2.0 16v 'red top').

Phase two GSi's came with the X20XEV (2.0 16v Ecotec).

1.8 red top is about 125bhp I think... And I think the 2.0 Ecotec might be based on it, as the engines look similar...

the 1.8 seems much more appealling at the moment due to the fact the insurance is like 900 quid cheaper.

wouldnt buy a 1.8GSI, pile of shite & handles like shite

at least with the 2.0 redtop you have a car that goes like stink even if it does handle like shite
