i was looking through some old max power issue and i saw a GSI with a combat 1 kit (nothing special about that) but it did have one thing on it which was special the bloke had extened the pipe from the inlet manifold and had this K&N cone sticking outta the o/s wing, this gave me a idea, colder denser air = more power! if i cut a round hole just above my K&N cone on the bonnet and have the cone sticking out by about 1/2 a inch through my bonnet i think this would not just look good, but its also a means of getting colder air in the engine mean more power

sure it would make a difference, because its not drawing any of the hot air from the engine because its out of the engine bay..

Also u'd have to forever clean it cause of the shit that itd suck onto itself; it'd be a trick mod through the bonnet tho, but hard to get a perfect fit and hole in the bonnet

also in winter u need some hot air to be drawn into the airbox to help get the engine upto running temp, thats what teh p[pipe runing from the exhaust manifold is, it blows hot air into the o/e airbox - wel on the 1.2 8v neway

yeah but if its outside the car especially on the bonnet, its gonna draw in more crap, cause its gonna get hit by rain; mud, if cars didnt get covered in shit u'd not ahve to wash them would u - all I was saying was that u'd have to clean it more often - not been funny with u but u sounded like u were having a go in ur last post and being demeaning - if this is the case I think ur a twat

if its not accept my apologies

no problems, dont think ur a twat now, but was just stating, esp, out of the bonnet, the kit would get hit by all kinds of shit - flies, mud; rain, far more than when its in the engine bay, covered by the bonnet - so in theory u will have to clean it more - plus, how easy will it be to keep the chrome finished end piece in good nick, chrome goes shit if u dont look afetr it in the correct way
