read it 2day in da auto express......vauxhall and lotus have put the 3.2 V6 from the new shape vectra into a VX220 (hence the VX320 name)
it aint going into production but it just shows wat vaux are capible of!!!! BEAST!

also new VX220 turbo, built specially for track days but road legal - only £30,000 - £35,000, 0-60 in approx 4 secs

nice idea, but recon it'll be as bad as a 2.5 in a corsa/nova, as the engine's too heavy for the car. Will proberbly handle like a barge, with the car wanting to swap ends at any sight of a corner 
Cool idea though

well i received a mag off vauxhall today and in there was the new vx lightning, looks absolutely mint. has 19" aloys on the front and 20" on the back! should be released next year! i'll search for some pics on the net and get someone to host them!

Not true. A German company produce the Lotus Esthi which is an Elise powered by a tweaked twin turbo, 2.8 V6 from an RS4 which puts out 414bhp @5800rpm. Apparently it handles just fine.

vx220 turbo sprint
To cope with the extra performance, the newcomer has lower suspension and wider track, plus larger wheels borrowed from Lotus's Exige. The brakes have also been swapped for bigger, track-oriented units that receive extra cooling from new ducts in the front spoiler. Bigger side air intakes improve flow into the engine, while a larger rear spoiler boosts high-speed stability. Inside, a carbon trim dash and special VXR seats have been added, as well as race-style four-point harnesses. A full roll cage will be offered as an option.
The bad news is that only 25 cars are planned at £29,995 each - that's £4,500 more than the standard Turbo. Five have already been reserved, with the first models due to be delivered in February.
