most tv's these days come with 'controls' where u can press a button on it - and watch something different - i suggest u give it a try

The "control" of which you speak is out of reach from my chair, and would require Large amounts of "energy" to get up and change the channel.

And throwing things @ the TV just wouldn't work

You also got QVC, some Travel Station, a Few music channels and BBC 3 and 4 ITV 2, ITV News... As long as your postcode passes a check anyway, and you are able to recieve all channels, of course

The main thing is that its free, i would be well pissed off if i had to pay.
