Thanks everyone for their input. There seems to be a core of people who are interested in putting the site back on track so far as being a car site to talk about cars. There also seems to be a load of bored, lonely users who want to fill the site with crap for their own amusement and futher to this, also want to clutter up sensible threads with their incessant thoughtlessness.
Assuming none of the latter group have any further input to give then I shall be removing users who don't want to work with us on improvements.
Olly, Ross, Steve et al, I'm at a loss to understand why you don't want somewhere like this. The solution is that you don't do it, simple as.
