same engines, chassis, suspension, only differences are the bodyshells and the interiors.

pugs tend to be a tad more pricey because they arent as common.

engines and performance figs r exactly the same

eg.

saxo vts - 1.6 16v, 120 bhp, 107 lb ft torque, 0-60: 7.6 (tested by EVO) top speed 128mph
106 gti - 1.6 16v, 120 bhp, 107 lb ft torque, 0-60: 7.4 secs (tested by evo) top speed 128mph

the pug is a little bit lighter than the saxo but the difference in 0-60 times there is most likely down to driver skills.

also - gti is ins grp 13, and vts grp 14, because pug's standard 0-60 figs are fiddles by pug to get lower tax and insurance rating in an attempt t make it sell more than the vts
