alright i got a sony 10 disc cd changer CDX-434RF, and i wanna wire it up to my Clarion head unit, on the side of the cd changer, it has 3 ports, one says power with 3 pins which has a red, yellow, black wire u attach to it, one says output, which i dont have a wire for, and other output says display which wires up to a remote, i was just wondering where do the 3 wires go, which come from the power output??, because thats the only wire i'v got which i think wires up the cd????, and i dont have the output port wire, which i think i can get hold of one somehow, so who here can slovce this problem

there used to be a day when you could buy bus adaptors, but its not possible in this combination. Sony and Clarion are two very different manufactures, and their headunits/cd changers all have their own interfaces to work with eachother.

Hang on, the CDX-434RF is a bloody FM modulated CD changer. Think you boys should have done ur research

Unfortunatly matey cos its FM modulated, the quality of sound will suffer. Heres how u use it.

Turn it on, and tune into 88.3MHz on your radio. Use the remote to play the selected CD. See if that works.

If that didnt work, did your CD changer come with a relay box?

U2U me if it works or if you need help

Just to tell u it WILL work

ARRRGH! it doesnt wire up to the headunit. The CD changer acts as a little radio station. It sends out a radio signal, so you tune into 88.3MHz FM on your clarion radio, play a cd using the remote, and you should hear the cd.

It should come with a little relay box to act as the fm transmitter, it may work without it.

If not the guy you bought it off forgot to give you a part, which u will either have to get off him, or buy from sony.

88.3 MHz FM, thats the standard for that CD changer. The frequency can be changed, i have several for you to try if that freqency dont work.

Jus out of interest, I was told by an ice dealer that you can link any changer to any headunit. Its a ball ache to do but what you do is remove the multipin plug and wire it up mannually. All thats different really between connections is the pin arrangement, he said if you could work it out you could do it.

TBH i think i would just buy a new changer or something
