Whats the difference between the C16Xe and the X16XE??

I have a 1.2 and am thinking of getting a 1.6, which car comes with which engine and is one better for modding than the other?

all views welcome!

A C16XE will see greater bhp improvements from the same modifications made to an X16XE, but the latter is a far newer engine and would be a greater choice to use as an engine conversion.
