Someone rang up EE and managed to report my mums phone as being lost and had her sim cancelled. How is it possible that someone got through the security questions, or are there any security questions?

Caused loads of hassle for her and I wondered how it was even possible?

Cheers.

Might also be someone else phoned up legitimately but the person who was doing the job typed in the wrong number, hence security was already passed for a different person. Guessing.

I don't think she's got any apps, she's not a techy at all.

Hasn't logged onto something like a 'free' wifi hot spot or anything? They aren't always very secure and its easy for someone to set up a mock one to look legit.

She wouldn't even know how to to be fair, she's not fussed about using Internet on her phone when out and about, only at people's houses.

That could be it then, a not very secure router and someone creaming off the data.

Or access has been gained to emails to emails where information could be stored? There's a horrendous amount of phishing scams going around at the moment.
