Yeah that looks like their budget sub -- 150W RMS on a 12" is pretty low handling...

for £270, you can get a Infinity Kappa 12'' 1200W sup in a custom box. With a 800W Amp and wiring kit. Thats from a place called Mobile World

Yeah Vibe stuff is normally pretty good. I'd basically say though you should be thinking about spending at least 50p per watt on amps if they are really gonna do what they say on the tin...

Forgot 'max' or 'peak' ratings. RMS is what counts. RMS measures the maximum 'average power' of the signal instead of an 'instantaneous' power hit...

What sorta music you looking to listen to mainly?

Depends how far you wanna go with it. If you just want a pretty good sound, go with something like the Vibe and you'll be happy... what is the rest of your system like?

If you wanna go the whole hog then it's worth buying real quality straight out rather than needing to swap stuff later...

One thing to get right first time is power cabling. I had to strip all mine out and start again which was a real [sPaNG]!

What amp would be best suited to a Pioneer TSW-1201C sub? Its a pretty loud sub @ 500watts RMS. Was Thinking of one of them Alpine Digital Mono amps.

MBQuart are a nice natural sound. I'd probably get some components up front. You need the tweeters high up as they produce a very directional sound and also setup a lot of the 'soundstage'.

Bass wise just get a sub. People with 6x9's etc swear their mates think they have subs, but you're not going to get the response from anything less than a subwoofer...

If you want it relatively tight, but aren't worried about loudness so much I'd prolly recommend a 12" in a sealed box -- can drive it much harder as the pressure helps control the excursion and you'll generally get a more accurate sound...

tim i have 2 gauge, 4 gauge and 5 guage running thru mine, was it ok to connect 2 guage, 4 gauge and 5 gauge leads from the battery to the chassis?
