Engine number is where box meets the block, sure that isn't what you're looking at?

I have that number c20xe 14102182 but cant match it up with anything mate it has 16-05-91 stamped on the front left just above the sump on the block

Thats an early engine and yes thats the date. Early engines ran up to engine number 14142838.

14102xxx is early 91 build, might also have date markers on the cam covers if you look down the oil fill.

Thanks mate ive just did the rocker cover gasket and the cam cap straight down the oil cap says 92 and the rest of them are diff dates
