Ive had fwd since my first car. Had a stint in an mx5. Even had an r26. I won't be going back to fwd. rwd is so much easier and better to drive!

Yep and they dont always help even when turned on.

Fwd is definately easier to drive

Forget power slides, RWD is just far better from a weight distribution and more importantly steering feel from the fact the front wheels aren't being pulled about the place the entire time.

Also those worried about driving rwd (?!) Traction control!

Agreed with Jambo, ignore the speed and dangers of cars, it just feel right being pushed along with the rear wheels rather than pulling with the fronts.

Whenever I drive a fwd car it just feels crap in comparison.

People need to realise that throttle pedals aren't on/off as well and you can go as fast or as slow as you like around corners.

Drove the missus' fiesta St today. 200bhp, 1080kg's, fwd. Torque steer city. It's a fun car, but as Jambo said, it feels more natural to drive my bmw as you're not constantly fighting the steering wheel.

The M's with the LSD'S would be even better.

I forgot how traction limited FWD cars are when they have a bit of power.

My last FWD was a Civic Type R with about 5 torques so wasn't a big deal. Had this Leon flashing like fuck at me with traction control looking lights high up in the revs in 3rd gear in the dry That said, the traction control is very good and doesn't obnoxiously bog you down like it does in some cars. Other than a blinking light on the dash, you can pretty much just plant the gas - it doesn't yank at the wheel really like what Ben described in the Fiesta.

The Subaru in hindsight was idiot proof, I think I under appreciated it at the time but in any conditions you could just plant your foot and it gripped up and fired you off somewhere.

I'm man enough to admit that I'm still shit scared of the Lotus I think a few laps on a dry circuit and I'll calm down a bit, but in anything other than bone dry warm roads and it starts moving around a bit and I'm not yet sure where the limits are.

She never had that issue with the Cupra and that was a bloody powerful fwd car and now that we have 4wd again that'll never happen. Plus she drives with a lot more care having our daughter in the back.

I would say i'm in the top 20 fwd drivers in the country

Probably around 12th would be my best guess.

And where did I say that I drive at safe low speeds all the time?? I've driven the car pretty hard a few times now and never had any over steering issues.
