My wall sockets are basically just under the window sill... kind of annoying.

It makes more sense for them to be at torso height. If they had always been that high we wouldn't question it. Easy to plug in, no bending down, wheelchair friendly and keeps electrics high up from flooding and babies/pets.

I thought you'd be against this 3CM as its another example of how the EU tell us what to do?

Because they look fucking ridiculous half way up the wall.

Meh, disagree.

Just 2nd fixed a full house with them just above a skirting. Makes the job harder being so low down

How arrogant of you to assume that someone who is wheelchair bound can't get up 2 flights of stairs

If they can climb 2 flights of stairs they won't need the wheel chair when they are up there

Imagine coming down back those stairs in the wheelchair. Would be one hell of a ride.

IP65 rated downlights

Holes cut - I wanted to make them a little closer together but was a bit restricted by the joists and cross timbers, you will see why

Wires run and lights wired

From the loft side

This is why i couldnt really bring them closer in

Fitted pics

Will get some better pics of them switched on etc when I have filled that hole in the ceiling and made it look nice

They"ll be fine if you put some decent LED's in them, give you loads of light.

Bought some LED strip to down some recess lighting in the kitchen, tested it and thought it looked a bit tacky so have ordered some warm white plinth lights now, stuck some foil in rough location of where they will go

Then made a start on the switch for these lights

Marked up

Cut out

Chiselled a hole for the power

Ran it behind the multi switch panel and spurred off the double socket next to it

Fused switch in ready to go

Then decided to reuse that LED strip to replace the two single LED lights in the TV unit, it gives a smoother light distribution, had a load left over so decided to experiment

The end result

Changes to match what is lit below

Cant seem to get a good pic of it, looks a lot better in real life, light spreads out more and is softer, phone makes it look really bright and garish for some reason, especially round the edges

When you run out of stupid things to do, you're gonna lose your mind. Take up yoga and post pictures of you in a leotard with your muffin tops spilling out everywhere

What's with the multi-cultural storage boxes beside the sink? Are you catering for every race?

Too many plinth lights. You only need half as many and then spread them out a bit. Less is more and not tacky.
