Taking the Mrs to new York in a two weeks for her 30th. Neither of us have been before. Made a list of all the touristy things to do but anyone got any not so well know recommendations?
Also new York passes worth it?
Booked tickets for an ice hockey game which I'm excited about

I've spent 5 weeks in total in New York mate and feel like I've barely scratched the surface. I wouldn't bother with the American Museum of Natural History - it's vast and mostly boring.

Freedom Tower
Central Park
9/11 Memorial Museum
Brooklyn Bridge
Yankees Stadium
Grand Central Terminal
Empire State Building
New York Subway (much easier to use then it seems)
New York Library
Battery Point
Statue Of Liberty
Highline is worth a walk too, near the meatpacking district.

Also money what best? Will take dollars in cash form but would rather not take it all as that. Those cards any good?

We got cash passports from Thomas Cook

Free to pay over the counter with them but a charge to withdraw from cash points

If you take cash, ask for $20 and smaller as some places won't take big notes and even the banks wouldn't change $100 bills for me so had to bring them home with me. Stupid or what.

One place i'd recommend to eat is "Beauty in Essex". Looks like an old pawn shop at the front, but in the back is an amazing restaurant!

"Hunt & Fish" is also amazing for lobster + steak.

Yeah in America tips make up part of their wages or something. Proper backwards country.

My mate went last year and said there was too much to do, so just pick the ones you actually want to do.

Who the hell wants to see a bloody library? And subway, Wtf Tiger? Are you 70?

I had a delivery guy hanging about the other day, think he was expecting a tip or something. I just shut the door.

A lot of tourists won't ride the subway as it seems complicated but it's not that difficult and let's you see see more places whilst not costing much.

As for the library, it's not like your local library
