Got the option of two new build houses. 4 bedroom semi detached similar priced.

One has a bigger garden with two parking spaces next to house. Other has smaller garden with garage and parking space in front

One with larger garden is on the end the garage one is sort of sandwiched between houses.

Is it worth sacrificing this for a garage...

One on the end. Being sandwiched between 2 properties means having to put up with 2 possible cunt neighbours.

P.s as if this thread is a true story.

Plot 110 does look a much better position, is there anyway you could build a garage on it? Seen as the parking spaces look like they'll be in a decent position then surely a shed for car stuff could work. All your stuff at your house now is outside is it not? If it's worked for you there then not sure why you need a garage.

Saying that though, surely something this important should be your choice and not a majority vote on corsasport

Edit: the drive looks much better as well because it's not right next to a neighbour like 108/109.

There's quite a strange layout for the spaces for the other houses, wouldn't like one of them.

Plot 110 on that diagram looks best bet in everything and if you could build on it later then that's a bonus. Maybe worth having a word with the developer because I don't see why they can't put a garage up at the front.

Hope this doesn't mean you are stopping the Lego projects by the way.

Double garage and I'd go for it... but a single is useless to me, not like you can really work on a car in one. Just storage really innit.

110.

Don't think you can build a double garage without needing parking spaces. It WILL get full up with junk, you'll have may be 1 space with 1 area full of cars in bits and other stuff.

But 110 is by far the best plot/option.

Given a parking space is 2.5m wide, by the time you build your garage walls and any supporting piers you'll be well short of a double garage size. The light shade of green looks to be land owned in common, darker green being your plot and parking.

You'd be foolish not to favour the 'corner' plot

I'd go for the corner plot, what are the 'existing properties' like, are they tight up against plot 110?

Also I know it's not to scale but the garage on plot 108 looks no bigger than a parking space, these small garages are a waste of time if you plan to do any work on a car in them

My only other concern would be that it looks like there is a real lack of general parking other than the allocated spots

110 as you will be guaranteed no blocking your entry of parking in front our house as its your only access

Howev what is the "sub". If it's a substation then neither as I wouldn't want to live near one

Wouldn't want to look out onto a double garage if it was me

Also, what does exiting property mean next to plot 110 and also is the entrance road to th estate the only one as you will have a lot of through traffic going past your house

Don't under estimate how many cars enter a housing estate each day

It is an entrance to the estate however its more of a back entrance most traffic should come from the main entrance on the other side

Plot 110 gives you side land which is great don't under estimate that

Can have sheds, keep bins etc down there keeps them out of sight

The thing that isn't clear is the parking sizes. If 109 park a car outside their house it may prove difficult to access 1 of you spaces

Out of those two I'd take the end one. However personally I'm not game for the strict to car her household rule there, at my place I have enough room for 4 cars and mines only a 2 bed!
