I did a plastering evening course a few years back

Another class was doing brick laying. Looked good fun, they were making little arches etc

I did a plastering course at a local, privately run construction skills college which amongst other courses did brick laying as well. The course content look really good and seeing the work progress alongside the course I was doing, it generally took people from never having mixed mortar through to being able to build some quite complex constructions.

Wouldn't bother. Shit trade to be in. If it's too cold or too wet you can't work so don't get paid...

Depends if you want to do it as a job or just for doing your own work - I'm tempted as the cost of my plastering course has been far outweighed by the savings I've made on all the jobs we've had on. Things like garden retaining walls, etc. I'd like to be able to do myself - labour can be ridiculous even for relatively straight forward jobs and getting builders to actually turn up is a fine art!
