I decided to justify the shameful purchase of what is basically a kids toy to my self by saying I could use when we go away camping to nip up to the shower blocks etc:

However in stock form the performance is pretty dismal with an adult stood on it!

It runs on a pair of 12v 7ah lead-acid batteries in series (giving 24v) So the first experiment was to run two 3-cell lithium batteries (4ah) in series, they are much smaller than the Lead-acid batteries but they can deliver much more current and sustain a higher voltage output at a given current:

The performance was much better, it could shift me up an incline and was much more responsive..

Anyway I'm going to order a big 6s LIPO (probably 10ah) but I'm wondering what else I can do with this? There is an E300 model but it appears to just have bigger wheels and a bigger motor? I don't suppose anyone knows if I can put E300 wheels on this one?

Ok guys, Start the abuse

A petrol GoPed would clearly offer much better performance but they are not exactly discrete

Its a 250w motor so a massive discharge rating is not really required

I'm looking at a 10-20C 10Ah battery which equates to 100-200amp where as 250w @ 24v is about 11 amps

fit a small petrol engine to it, then add some axles and 4 wheels, then swap out the steering stick for a proper steering rack and wheel, extend the chassis so you can fit two bucket seats, then build a bodyshell around it with windscreen and side windows, then fit a 20xe engine.

Lots of higher wattage motors on ebay, people seem to get 24v motors and over-volt them to 36v aswell, also 36v running on 48v. From forums there seems alot of mods that can be done with these. Ive had a gander at then myself before.

So I bought a bargain little LIPO charger that I'm going to try and build into the scooter:

Just waiting for a bargain 6s 8000mah or bigger 6-cell LIPO to come up for sale now.

I've had mini motos and pit bikes, while they are fun there are very few places you can ride them and they are impractical.. The purpose of my hyper gay scooter is non-offensive transport.

If I wanted to look like a gypsy I'd buy another mini moto and hang out in car parks
