Which part needs changing? If it's the whole mirror you need door card off to get to the plug.

Where abouts on the hard shoulder are you located?

Just the mirror but the backing plate is smashed to pieces too - thought it'd be easier to replace the whole mirror with a second hand one from ebay if the door card isnt too hard to remove

Hard shoulder in Watford lol

Ah miles away!

Door card is easy, from memory I think a few torx screws along the bottom. The grab handle cover comes off and a couple behind there. And the door open handle, a cover behind that is another screw. The rest is on clips.

For the mirror it's self, you need to remove the glass, then removed the painted cap part on the front. The mirror is bolted from the outside with either a 40 or 45 torx.

Take the speaker out, 3 screws. Makes it easier to get the wiring out. Also when you put the new one in, make sure the wire is round the right side of the window channel, otherwise when the window goes down it will reap the wires.
