Anyone got a nokia 6100, never noticed before but when someone calls you it doesn't light up, so if its dark in the car, you dont know who is calling.

My mates 6610 lights up fine.

Anyone else know whats wrong? Could the software just be updated?

I've got one and it's been fine?

I'd pop it in and see if you can get the firmware upgraded...

type in *#0000# and write down wat u see on da screen.....its the software version.....do the same to ure mates fone and compare it

oh yeh....click on names then click on caller groups. it may only flash for sum people who call u..

munch, checked software on mates 6610, his is later version than mine. Tried caller groups thing but only have options of, logo, names ringtone and rename.

Prob software thing I thinks, have asked orange anyway, they getting back to me!

Any other ideas mobile guru??

carphone warehouse nokia service centre. as long as the fone isnt a stolen or bought not under warrantee then they can upgrade the software for u within 1 hour for free.....

just a quick Q tho.....is ure fone an orange fone? wat bout ure mates?

lol mine was a stolen phone, nicked from a DJ and they did the firmware for nothin, and also replaced the battery connectors which i didnt even think were doin anything!

Mine is an orange phone, they only supply 6100, mates is Voda 6610, his software is V4.12, mine V4.01

erm..... 6100 and 6610 are both tottaly different fones mate..... thats y the software is different....

and austin.....if u stole it off a DJ then maybe he didnt have the IMEI number to barr the fone!!! well done me soon!

set ure flashign thing to "on" in ure profiles ie rhymic backlight alert i think. dont waste my time again.....NEXT PLEASE

Vibrating Alert
Message Alert
Keypad tones
Warning tones
Alert for
Profile name

How the hell does it work?

might be in settings.....dunno la im not familiar with that fone......sorry! best of asking CPW cos it culd be a software glitch....

make sure vibrating alert is active, and incoming call alert is set correctly.

right it flashs when the callers name isnt in the phone book. When I put it in and in a caller group it rings as that group etc but doesnt light up.

software fault.take it to ure nokia software centre for an upgrade (if avaliable) or tell em to GTF and sell me it for £20
