I'm not settled on this idea yet but recent events have freed up some money so I've been toying with this idea.

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas what!? Currently I'm thinking about an X3 20d XDrive, it's a small 4x4 looking (doesn't have to be real 4x4 though), economical automatic diesel with a nice juicy spec. I want diesel, automatic, very well spec'd (cruise, climate, leather, headed seats etc). I'm gunna go and drive a BMW this week to see what I think.

I'd be thinking not new but upto 3 yrs old?

Any other ideas?

X3's are terrible inside and out, looked at them before the evoque. Q5 much nicer inside. Q3 is nicer inside than an X3 but its too small.

Evoque is cheaper to lease as well.

Is it going to do many miles? May as well get the four wheel drive one if its not loads. It'll tow nicer and you'll be pissed if you don't and it snows.

Just looking now, does seem strange that you can get a 2005 for £4k and a 2010 for £20k and they're the same shape.

Guessing you'll be wanting the facelift one

Dad has a 3.0d (or is it 3.5d?) M-sport X-drive and it's a lovely thing to drive. Pulls like you wouldn't believe.

It looks absolutely horrible though, imo. Like it used to be bigger but shrunk.

Much prefer the X1 to the X3, if looking at small 4x4's.

We used to have Tiguans at work. I loved driving them, but they have the same dash as every other VW, which puts me off.
