Algeria all over the Germans like a rash. Shocking defensively Germany apart from the keeper.

Free kick looked entirely rehearsed IMO, he didn't trip or stumble over anything.

Fancy France to beat Germany now, despite Strachan talking shite; Valbuena, Griezmann and Benzema are all quick and will cause problems.

Agree re. free kick, well planned.

Mertesacker and Neuer completely exposed yesterday. Howedes and Mustafi are not full backs and Boateng just abandoned Per constantly. He's nowhere near as slow as people make out but he's not super fast either. Neuer (cheating/lying cunt) was superb as a sweeper keeper - more touches outside the box than inside almost

I never noticed how slow Mertesacker was in the Prem tbh, but this world cup, he looks like he's running in treacle all the time. Generally he's good enough to anticipate, or massive enough that he can reach

Maybe its just others alongside him exposing him (like Boateng last night) or the climate. Played A LOT for arsenal this season, only missed 3/4 games max I think!

Mertesacker isn't much slower than Terry tbh. His positioning makes up for it, and he has Kosc there to cover. Just so happens boateng plays like a midfielder, and Neuer more like a centre half.

I know this is a totally random point, but regarding cheating and that Robben issue, when is cheating not cheating? Is it not 'cheating' when a footballer knows the ball came off him for a corner, yet if a player picks the ball up and sends it to his keeper knowing it should be a corner, is that not 'cheating' also? I.e. 'trying to get away with it' etc - I know it's a completely random point but just curious. I hate all the cheating debate, players dive so what get the fuck on with it.

You been listening to Richard Keys? That's the kind of stuff he spouts. To a certain extent you're correct of course.

The thing with diving is the consequences are usually worse. Its usually a dive to win a penalty, free kick or to get a player booked/sent off. The other incidents are minor in comparison
