So did a little work on the gimp today..

Had a hand from my cousin and got the full inside stripped

Stripped some sound deadening out too, see what was left

The rear shelf has surface rust but nothing too bad

The rear seat mount needs a bit work, although its not getting seats in

Found a small hole aswell

Looks pretty decent John.

Aim of removing sound deadning? To get to the metal? I would imagine these will require as much deadning as you can lay your hands on

Did a little more, still have pass side footwell and the bits on inside of quarters to do..

More rust found

Under the rear window

The other rear seatbelt mount... Probs going to lose the althogether as im not wanting rear seats

Shit repair on the rear of the passenger floor - ideally needs full corner replaced imo

Next step (once im finished with sound deadening) is to remove the last of dash, bonnet, boot, doors and lights ect

Then i need to brace the shell before removing the running gear and engine...

Then make a spit and cut all the rot i can see out bfore its blasted

Clio now has a rather tatty espace splitter on

So this arrived in the post - rather tatty and bent funny but it was cheap and has straightenned out ok

Hillman imp bumper rack - shocking the size difference between the clio and the imp

However no finished pics as it got dark - only need pressed plates - yes jambo pressed plates

New wheels

Hids/leds ect

Then jobs a good un, pics tomorrow

Theres a few bend marks in the lower lip i need to try and fix but yea its not too bad, has a tiny (1-2mm) over hang where it originally bent for the espace (clio is more rounded)...

Will do for now until i find a better condition one

Are you reusing the glass in the imp
If you let the grinding sparks touch the glass they will melt it. Just had to fit all new glass in a 911 because the guy cut the sunroof out himself

So stripped some more today and found a bit more rust...

Rear window frame needs work

However got the bonnet and boot off also

Got the heater matrix out also draining the rad in the process

Water in the rad was full of oil and fuel so im guessing the HG or something is fucked...
