I've not bothered with them since I started using Spotify, tenner a month to stream unlimited music to PC/Phone, pretty much every song you can think of. Far less hassle.

Spotify seems ok at first glance but it's useless for households and you don't actually have any of the music if you stop the subscription.

I still don't know why people aren't using a better DNS provider, i.e OpenDNS

-Faster Browsing Speed
-Safer
-More Reliable
-No Sites Blocked

I do purchase my music (mostly FLAC/WAV as i actually enjoy listening to music) and didn't say otherwise, so get off your horse you clueless fuck

Bart - Virgin have started to block IP ranges belonging to the sites, so changing DNS doesn't help (plus i've already tried).

Issue with Spotify is that they don't carry everything, even popular stuff let alone the more obscure artists. Usually find Grooveshark is better but the quality is Youtube pants.

I just like having a physical possession and also quite enjoy the books that come with CDs.

It's very rare to find decent artwork with CDs now, unless it's special editions or boxsets; better off purchasing the Vinyl for that.

Tbh. I don't care much about owning a physical copy, just buy them when it's the cheaper option.

Fuck knows why iTunes seem to think I should pay full price for a 10 year old album, when I can get it for next to nothing at my local record store.

Also gives the benefit of being able to play them on my old analogue stereo, as I don't have an external DAC.

I copypasta'd a list off the BBC article and said i used some of the sites listed (actually only one but hey), never stated i use torrents or any of those sites to download music yet you've managed to '1+1 = 4' it.
And why are you even replying to the thread if it doesn't affect you or you have zero interest it in?

You're a fucking weirdo Ash, a talking bollocks weirdo!

Balling - Have a look at 7digital, albums are well priced if you can put up with MP3's (they do some FLAC but you tend to pay a few quid more for that). Otherwise for FLAC/WAV look at HDTracks, Linn Records, Chandos or Deutsche Grammophon (classical).

Cheers, will keep that site in mind.

A perfect example though. I'm looking to buy The Headphone Masterpiece by Cody Ceshnutt.
£7.99 @7digital
£6.64 @Amazon (new CD)
£6.22 @iTunes (US store)
£5.73 @Local record store (wouldn't be surprised to find it even cheaper)
£2.99 @Amazon (used CD)

Only thing that beats my local store is buying used, yet still physical.
Makes no sense to me at all...

Sorry to sidetrack (pun intended) your thread.
