Hi,

I'm in need of some new track rod ends and ball joints for my Clio 182.

Got a quote from Renault of £37.27 each for track rod ends and £60 each for ball joints as they only come with the lower arms . So £194.54 + £7.50 delivery....don't think so!

ECP have track rod ends in for £14.10 each and ball joints for £15.54. Has anyone any experience with Lemforder pattern parts?

Thanks

I used these on my 172 (got them from ecp as well). Ran for 20k with no issue. Nice and simple to fit on the Clio sports as well.

Also it's worth considering doing the top mounts if your doing a re-fresh if you havnt already

Thanks guys, will get these ordered after my holiday then. Just didn't want to order some pattern make I've never heard of before and they last 10minutes.

Baskey - Did you go for OEM top mounts or stuff from ECP?

Lemforder probably manufactured some of the OEM parts anyway. Renault have no business manufacturing parts like ball joints.

I just got it all from ECP mate, I'm no driving god but they all seemed fine to me and lasted till I sold the car.

Only issue I had was one of the original track rods was stuck but I just heated it with a plumbers blow torch for 5 mins then it wound straight off

Lemforder are not a pattern part, they're an OE Manufacturer.

They supply VAG with all their suspension arms, when you buy Lemforder, you get exactly the same as VAG sell you but with the OE number and VWAudi logo ground off.

If they make the OE stuff then id pay the extra.

I wouldnt touch pattern parts for anything load bearing mind, you will end up replacing it in 18months time. Buy cheap buy twice!

I'd say so. Ocap is a new brand to us, I'm not sure how good they are yet. We're told they're decent but they've not been out for long enough for us to see any issues IMO.

Probably shouldn't say that
