I took a 5 series for a test drive last week. Was smooth as you like but genuinely do not understand why people spunk over them - they are boring.

Update: Lost handbrake

Looks like original spring for the pin that holds handbrake shoes in place has snapped. This ended up in the pin getting ripped out so now I need new backing plate.

Oh joy

Paid 2800 for this one.

Sold my old one for 2600 with 124k miles just few months ago.

These engines are really strong! seen them with 300k miles in Europe!
Personally sat in one with 232k miles. Sounded mint!

Stuff that goes with mileage is nearside engine mount(they are oil filled + vacuum ), ignition switches can go, prop coupling and rear subframe bushes.

All but ignition switch depend how it was driven too though.

It weighs nearly 2 tons for god's sake! And as Chris said, it's a linear acceleration!

You get extremely proud with yourself buying old shitheaps with hundreds of thousands of miles because it has a BMW badge on it.

For a huge great barge i'm impressed. It has the aerodynamics of a brick.

Not fast, just satisfying.
