basicly ive left uni for 16 months, moved back home, got a job 30 mile away so will be doing a lot of miles every week

buying a v.cheap 2nd car to go to/from work, probs up to 1k for the car, and mine is getting taken off the road for a full rebuild again, wide arches, 2.0, ice etc etc

any ideas what to get?

If you want a cheap car why not buy a Cavalier? You can get them for between £500-£1500, an H reg 2.0 CDi for instance with all the electrics, power steering, etc. will probably set you back about £700 for an excellent condition example.
