right guys need some help,

first off im doing a x20xev corsa build, iv fitted the omega 2.2 inlet manifold but the throtle body wont fit, iv had a browse on web and the only 2.2 omega throttle iv found is the electric one, I need a cable throttle to fit any ideas? Will the frontera 2.2 x22xe fit?

Next thing is my engine came from a vectra with the bigger sump (with the stupid bit the sticks out front) I want to know if the calibra ecotec steel sump will fit without having to change pick ups etc?

Any help would be appreticiated guys

P.s I'm new to this so let me no if I'm doing something wrong please

You want a Z20LET inlet manifold bud,use your XEV throttle body. The LET inlet has bin proven to show a small power gain with smother throttle to. Loads on ebay!

I bleave your need the change the oil pick up pipe to match the sump as there diffrents sizes. What year vectra did your engine come from? The newer XEV's had the balancer shafts hence the biger sump. Pritty sure dave will comment on this when he see's this. They can be removed but it would be a good idea to have the bottom end balanced up after. Google x20xev balancer shafts removel would be a good idea for more info as alot of people have done it,again there is a verry small power gain from doing this.

Pritty sure am right about the sump although dave if you see this please put me right dave has a N/A xev running about 225bhp so again he would be better to ask then me.

It hasn't got the balancer shaft it came from a x reg vectra sri estate. And ok I'll look into the z20let inlet then thanks for that. I got the omega one because someone used one before? Not sure how they got round the throttle then lol thanks for the reply mate and if dave pops up that would be great :-)

If it don't have them then you just need the oil pick up pipe, baffle plate and sump then mate. As for the inlet the LET one is the one to go for, makes a real diffrents. If you need any more help drop me a u2u

some tips on what to do removing your balancer shafts, which you will have in a vectras x20xev. kits to do this are availble. if you find and older x20xev sump (pressed steel) the bolt holes will need drilling out to 8.5mm from 6.5mm, you will need a sump gasket/baffle plate from an early x20xev, new oil pick up pipe and pump from early x20xev or re make your pick up pipe, new exhaust manifold/down pipe. blank off oil ways in number 2-3 big end caps. grind block internal casting flashings back to clear baffle plate. some photos of this are in my projects and build thread for x20xev.
as for inlet thats a new one on me, the better one is from the early x20xev up to 1996, more simple internally than the later ones from vectras and astras. more like the c20xe.
or you could go for throttle bodies!
if you have any problems get in touch, happy to help.

you will also need a new set of bolts to hold the sump on, same as hold the crank pulley to the hub. depending which oil pump you use the 4 bolts that go into it from the sump stay the same, no need to drill out. 2l 8v sumps fit if your going to try and find 1 in the breakers.
ive got a ported head, early type inlet with enlarged throttle body, loom and ecu, from a 1995 cav here. with piper cams. just needs stronger springs and lifters idealy. made 168bhp with a viper cone filter and lexmaul 4/2/1 and 200cpi cat.

i think the x20xev looks like standard fit in a corsa b compaired to the c20xe. no disrespect to the c20xe, great engine just looks abit big in the b to me. i like the could have been factory look.

so you dont have anything under the crankshaft then? do you have a big gear on the crank no drivinr anything?
as for cams, steer clear of cheep reprofiled cams, newman cams, dbilas cams. top names are, piper cams, kent cams, shrick cams, cat cams. unless you are staying at standard rpms, max of 7000rpm you will need new rods, bolts, and spring caps. under this just uprated springs and lifters are needed. vernier pullies help a bit to, but only made by dbilas and qed. im using kent cams cant fault them.

Nope no gear on crank just one big gear for crank signal that's it, I've paid for premium now how do I upload on here? I've got photobucket sorted, and tbh I'm going to stay around 7000rpm mark I think, where abouts do you find your parts from dave as there's naff all on ebay for these is there, also I found a 4 2 1 for like 350 for lexmaul one is that about right? Seems expensive to me as other engines there cheaper /:

thats a pre balancer shaft crank in a balancer shaft type block. good news is all you need is a tin sump and pick up pipe form a z20ler. bad news there not cheap! courtenay sport used to sell them.
before you buy a down pipe be sure which type of sump your staying with as theres 2 down pipes, one that passes near the flywheel the other near the oil pump.
350 is about right as its stainless alloy steel, stainless ones are prone to cracking these dont do that.
you going to fit a light wieght flywheel? i would.
i get my parts from, Autovaux, Lmf, Stealth Racing, Ashford Motorsport. search the cam manufactures sites for dealers. if your not doing any bottom end work then stay to cams giving peak power around 6500-6800 rpm.
which ecu are you using? early ones cant be maped without being modified, only chipped.
another good tip is to use a phenolic inlet gasket, prevents heat soak into the inlet from the head. not cheap, used on z20let/h come with longer bolts but its best to get exhaust manifold studs for a z22se as they look more oem with new copper nuts.

oh right /: i had a little browse about and im wondering couldnt i just use sump plate and pick up off a redtop?? just remove the carrier off mine?

redtop design i found

again redtop with pick up removed and sump plate

can i just remove this from mine?

a steel sump will then fit wont it as redtop and c20ne are same i believe??

as for flywheel im still undecided what to do as my last x20xev corsa i drilled the 1.0 flywheel to fit the 2.0 and fitted the 1.0 gearbox to that which made some great acceleration lol it was standard apart from a chip and it killed most redtop corsas, it even sat on a 189bhp corsa redtops arse haha only problem with it was shifting through gears every 3 seconds and it would top out just after 130 im not after lots of top speed though but i would say a f18 would probably be too much /:

this was it lol first x20xev build i did and loved it!

and so when this builds done your saying i couldnt take it somewere to be mapped to its best potential then? and ok ill have to buy that inlet gasket i noticed them but weren't sure how they improved exactly thanks for clearing that up for me

you could remove the cradle but you will need to block the holes in main bearings 2 & 3, 2 in each, drill and tap m8 and plug them with bolts copper washers and thread lock. have you checked out my thread on x20xev engine build? photos of this on there.
which head do you have? coscast or gm?

Ok does anyone no if I use the sump panel and pick up pipe off a c20xe on this can I use either the steel sump or the ally sump off the redtop aswell or is there a difference in the two sumps? Just want to make sure as I will be fitting a 4 branch aswell so want to buy the right one?
