I've been using the corsa through winter and its taken its toll, & now is in a bit of a state so i decided to look out for a new daily, which i should have done when i scrapped the rover
ideally wanted to find something cheap and diesel .. but that went out of the window today when i bought a 1999 Lexus is200 sport. She's covered 62k, had a new clutch, 2 new tyres, rear dampers and come with a bit of history, few reciepts and Cost all of £500

it failed the mot yesterday, which is why i got it fairly cheap.
Fail sheet shows
-front brake pads low
-nsf brake binding
-exhaust blowing on the front join
-nsf tyre tread below 1.5mm

couple of advisories being
-nsr indicator needs cleaning
-tinted number plates

shouldn't take much to get it sorted and through MOT, overall the car drives well very smooth and very comfy interior

Sounds well spec'd, does it have the sat nav? Wouldn't worry if not as the update discs can be very costly.

Only thing I've had with my dad's was the central locking sensor on the dash, easy fix tho.

Got many plans other than sort it for the MOT?

yeah quite well spec'd but doesnt have the sat nav.
ah yeah, parts dont seem to be to expensive either tbh from what ive seen.

no real plans for it other than keep it tidy and get it through the mot, probably refurb the wheels as they have corroded and been sprayed black.

Mate has 1 of these and they are good cars, if a bit dated looking without the Aero kit. Not as slow as made out to be, pull well enough for a lazy straight 6 when the VVTi kicks in.

I just done the front discs and pads on it, bloody pig of a job if you havn't done them before. Stupid pad retaining clip things are a nightmare to keep in place.

Lovely cars, Ive had mine over 8 years now.

You can get the TTE Supercharger that bolts straight on, which totally transforms the car, and takes it to over 200bhp.

Not really, I find mine less thirsty than my mates Type R, and about the same as my 2.0 Corsa.

I've just today bid on a set of team heko wind deflectors on ebay, if i dont win them and yours are still available i'll probably have them off you.
same with roof bars, once ive got it through MOT

With the HID kit you've got does that do both main & dipped beam?
i'm not even sure myself what bulb size is standard or if its a seperate bulb for main beam yet

Also its a 9006 bulb for dip beam and 9005 bulb for main beam. Foglights are H1 bulbs and sidelights are the standard 501 bulbs

Foglights will be 9005 bulbs, as its an early IS200, they changed to H1 in around 2003 IIRC

Your right, I forgot about that!

Easy enough to change them all to HIDs
