Cheers Kieran! I got the callipers from a guy on eBay, they were £220 Really cheap for fronts.

What you looking for? Boxster S rear brakes are pretty much the same as non S front brakes from memory and Boxster S front brakes are the same as 996 brakes

There's quite a bit over the forums, and some good info on piston sizes pads diameters etc

There's a few differences yeah, Boxster S and Non S have the same front callipers but I think theres a difference in the width for bigger discs or something like that.

Rears have different sized pistons or something, I think its piston size as you can put them under 15's but you can't with the the fronts I honestly can't remember too much about them now so you're better off looking it up but there are a few websites that list all the differences

Great updates not read this in a while. Such a cool car.

I am really liking bronze coloured cars at the mo?!

I have to agree with Marc though, front end looks weird with no orange indicators! Be tempted to do my original plan for your car and tint them grey paint wheels M5 E39 gunmetal finish and tint rear lenses grey also...

But then it's your car and if the shoe fits!

Cheers Jambo!

I'm really not into the orange indicators I was thinking about tinting them but have seen it done on a couple of cars and it looked a bit OTT. So that kind of put me off.

You're as bad as my Dad! He told me to do them a similar colour, I really like the silver at the moment but it may change in the future!

This year I'm trying to make it drive like it was new and improve any bits I can. Things like the stuff you've mentioned will probably happen when I'm getting the engine built up and put in which will be next year some time.

Always nice to have some constructive feedback though! Thanks!!

What I mean is the car is gold similar shade to ours, but what you can't see is the rear lights are smoked and the wheels are anthra. The bottom half of the car is a darker anthracite shade and looks great the colours go so well. All I meant for yours always to don't he wheels anthra, tint the clear rear lights darker and the "orange" indicators tinted the same shade (laminex would be ideal)
Methinks it would suit the darker interior and compliment the body colour.

Obvs it's your car, just trying to show how well the colour scheme works and that picture is possibly the worst example possible

Yeah I know how well it works, some of the brocade corsa's look really good like that, just prefer the lighter colours at the moment. No doubt it will all change come a year or two

*****UPDATE*****

Well last weekend I got the old girl back on the road.

I didn't take many photos as a lot of the time I've spent working on it has been after work in the evenings.

Here's what I have done and a few photos:

I changed the lower bearing in the steering column which was a right pain in the arse. To do this you need remove most of the dash

I also changed the whole rear linkage setup for the gearbox for the rose jointed stuff and made an adjustable bar to replace the horrid old one.
Refurbed gear lever:

Old support bar for the linkage:

I cut down a Go Kart track rod end and re tapped the bar with the rose joints to replace the old one:

I then rebuilt the callipers:

I also got the brakes new pads and discs on.

I then took it for a drive to a mates last sunday:

It was great to drive and everything was so much more precise! Great to see my hard work had paid off

Today I drained the old gearbox oil and put some new stuff in.

This definitely hasn't been done since it left Porsche in 1986.
Then filled it up:

So that's where it is now. Going to roll the rear arches tomorrow and lower the back down a bit.

Yeah it really was. I've had the oil for a while just didn't man up and do it! Glad I have now after seeing it. I've got the full service history of this car and can't find the oil ever to have been done so I think it really is from '86

Good work Darryl. Notice any difference since you've changed the gearbox oil?

Rear number plate looks wonky by the way

Cheers Robin, yeah 944's tend to have a whine from the gearbox/dif (some say as as standard) mine wasn't loud but it was noticeable at low revs when driving. It's quietened it down to the point where you can just about hear it if you listen out for it. It also feels a lot nicer changing gear. Worth the £30 of oil

Yeah it is It's been bugging me for ages I just haven't taken 5mins to adjust it
