Havent posted any for a while.

First up a Focus, simple repair, new bootlid and rear bumper, and bash the rear panel out a little.

Stripped

New boot bolted on

Bolt the catch in to make sure it locks etc, as you can see it doesnt fit.

Basically put a peice of wood across the inside of the rear panel, and bray it with a sledgehammer to bring it out. All fits then

No more pics of that as I had lots of holidays so had all of Chrismas off. Same with the next one.

VW Polo another big ish job, seat belt tensioners in the front gone off, and passenger seat airbag.

Inside of front door shut

Inside of rear door shut

Shows how strong glass is, its jumped out of the frame due to impact and broke part of the mirror without breaking the glass!

Doors removed

One of the mileage for some reason, just under 8k, this is the third time weve had this car in

Hinges may have been bent so i said new ones

Glovebox out to remove front hinges

Doors tried on

Didnt fit too bad considering the inner damage to B pillar area etc. But still needed to go onto Jig to be pulled so on it goes, first job, get it up in the air.

B Piller inner, see the curve on it.

Bolted down on the jig and wheels removed

Welded a plate on the B pillar with a clamp on to pull it out

Jig dozer set up to pull, basically a rig ram, powered by air, tightens the chain thats attatched to the clamp to pull it out.

Video of how it works

Inner of the rear wheel arch

Same idea to put it out there too

After pulling

Loads better, obviously will be replaced.

Weld a plate on the rear door shut

Video of rear one been pulled out

And showing its moved it out, as it fits the door a lot better

That was it all pulled. Next job i removed the wing ready to replace the full side panel, thats as far as i got, so since i had 2 week off for Christmas, it cant sit around waiting for me to get back so another guy did it whilst i was off.

Got back to work on Wednesday and its currently like this.

New panel welded on, joins filled over and alredy in primer.

That will get painted this week, and seen as i stripped it i will probly end up putting it back together.

Nice few jobs. I feel sorry for you with your car-o-liner jig. I used to jack them all up when I was a apprentice. Did my nut in. Only ones we have at current place are the flat bed lifts. So much quicker.

What as wrong with the focus bumper? Split across top?

Also people in here who don't know. Never stand behind the puller when its pulling. The clamps do come off and at a hell of a pace. Even with the safety wire on. (Which alot of people don't put on)

I know mate I used to use the drive on quick ones at my old place. But this place only has 3 panel beaters so we for usually use the jig that much, although in the past 4 weeks we've had 3 cars on it. just the once for me though.

Yeah bumper was split across the top.

And yes when they come off they really do fly, as you can see I don't have the safety wire on

Yep, and should also show people that cars don't get written off as easy as people think.

We do a lot of work for NHS, this is an NHS lease car, women drivers eh. Ha. They often get bumped. One time was a scuff on the front, the other a truck reversed into the drivers side rear and drove off. This one someone hit her at a junction. So pretty much just bad luck.

Yep Gav. got some pics of another Polo somewhere I will have to upload. Had 160 miles on the clock when it came in. Had about 80 miles on when we estimated it had a new door and a sill repair, she had also scraped the front bumper and kinked the wing. All within 4 days of owning it. Ill upload them and put them in.

Cheers Ben.

In fact here it is

To show mileage!

Damage of sill

Same idea again, weld on a plate and pull out.

Then cut off plate, trim welds away and fill.

No pics in filler but finished result

We used to have one of them dozers wherei work never used it once was just easier to attach plates like you did with a clamp and a chain then get the forklift and use the hydraulic side shift to pull things straight. mainly at the base of merc sprinter b pillars on sainsburys delivery vans, can't think how many I've done easily 100 or more in the last 3yrs

Cheers guys. The black polo she did on a post in her drive, blamed it on been a new car and she wasn't used to it

The silver Polo, some how, from the whack, must have been that had its snapped the rear gearbox mount so needs a new one of those. And for some reason, as you can see on the mileage pic, the steering wheel light is on. The power steering also doesn't work. That will be sent to VW I think once its back together.
