Author Speedo lights suddenly not working?

Morning everyone. I was driving enthusiastically last night then I noticed my speedo was dark and the lights had gone off :s it has always been really bright so I'm assuming all the bulbs were working. Was just wondering if anyone knows which fuse they are? And any other options as to why it might of happened. Thanks.

check all fuse's,take the bulbs out and test them in something that works to see if it is the bulbs or a wireing problem would be a good start bud

Ok then mate. Will pull all the fuses out later and if its not that ill get the clocks out over the weekend. Can't complain to much because my corsa has been good as gold since getting it

Just checked all the fuses and they were all fine which I was slightly annoyed about lol

Probably the bulbs are gone. Same thing happened in my Corsa.

Are there 2 bulbs do you know mate? I just thought it was strange for them both to blow at the same time?

yup happened to me in a night previously bulbs were black they are a piece of oiss to fit and make a load of difference when done! get normal ones from halfords think they are number 256 bulb IIRC

Right I just took the dials out and there was no broken solder which I was also told to look for. And I took each bulb out and they all looked fine? I don't know if there hard to notice if there blown or not. But they did look fine :s

had the same happen to me, the headlight switch was broke. second hand one sorted it

Is that the switch than turns the lights on and off? Sorry to sound stupid there lol. Because I also noticed that when the lights are on and I open the door with the key out of the ignition. The alarm doesn't sound...

Yeah that's the one, exactly the same issue with mine, no alarm to say the lights are still on and no speedo illumination, took me ages to find the issue checking fuses, bulbs and wires.

Well yeah I've been doing the same with pulling everything apart and checking fuses. I was then going to buy new bulbs today when I saw this. I'll go to the scrappy tomorrow then and try another switch. Thanks for your help

I've got myself another switch. But can't see how to remove the old one. Does anyone have any tips please?

Yeah just pull out, I had to prise it out with a flat blade screw driver

Ok thanks for the help. Didn't want to try and prise it out and break it if it wasn't the right way lol. Will try it later and hopefully it solves my problem

Right I finally found out it was the fuse in the end lol. So put in another one and everything was fine until last night when it blew again, I tried another 4 fuses and they all blew straight away as soon as I turned the lights back on. Also I noticed that the fuse blew when the heaters were on 3 because I leave them on to help keep the heat out of the engine bay. Does anyone know why this might be? Thanks.

Yeah I kept trying bigger ones and each one blew straight away. Going to try another one in a bit now it's cold and see
